Overview
A Fortune 500 client commissioned RazorEdge to support with VR/AR/Web channel-based experience design and delivery, as well as device procurement and licensing for their Retail Innovation Center. The goal was to elevate the nature of their learning seminars with strategic retailers by replacing outdated presentation formats like PowerPoint with more dynamic, immersive and self-guided experiences.
Requirements

Ensure maximum range of motion with no wires, a truly untethered experience

Deliver self-paced learning and exploration of the immersive experiences without the need for centralized coordination

Support ongoing upgrade and enhancement in an agile fashion to meet the demand of the rapidly evolving pet industry

Deploy VR/AR experiences securely within the corporate network

Ensure that customers with zero or little experience with VR/AR could easily jump into the experiences without assistance

Process

Conducted on-site ideation sessions, UI wireframing and VR prototyping with the client’s category, product, nutrition and consumer behavior research teams to redesign the customer journey

Designed and developed four bespoke VR experiences on HTC Vive Focus mobile VR headsets

Deployed HTC Vive Enterprise Portal for secure deployment and upgrade of the headsets at the RIC

Results

The client experienced a dramatic increase in strategic retailers booking visits to the RIC for the first time in many years.

Feedback from the strategic retailers and leadership teams on the new experience journey was excellent.
